Jeff Frost Time Lapse Artist (50 min)

Samy’s Camera/Photo School

October 20, 2013

The LMGA in a collaboration with Michael Britt, Director of Samy’s Photo School,  recently held its first “salon” of guest photographer speakers.  Opening the series was photographer/videographer Jeff Frost. Frost was a featured speaker at this year’s PhotoLA and opened the 2012 Palm Springs Photo Festival. He is becoming a YouTube phenomenon.   Frost creates imagined realities using time lapse photography, video, and sound design. His “Flawed Symmetry of Prediction” is a Vimeo Staff Pick.

Photographer Dan Milnor best describes Jeff Frost’s work, “As the shadow of night falls across the American West a lone man begins his work. Far from the confines, calamity, and culture of society, multimedia artist and storyteller Jeff Frost sifts through the visual dregs of places and people who once were. Combining still and time-lapse photography with motion, music, and art, Frost reveals a world rarely seen. Rooted in science and the exploration of space, Frost’s work explodes with light, fire, and sound, utilizing 2D and 3D perspective, leading the viewer on a unique visual journey through worlds both real and imagined.”

Jeff Frost

A lively character (yes, that’s a spiked mohawk)  Frost entertained the group with stories from his past, what inspires him as an artist, interspersed with his films of fantastic imagery and incongruous juxtapositions.
