City Staffers and film industry reps gathered on Thursday Aug 28 to celebrate the retirement of Ariel Penn, the Film Commissioner for the City of Pasadena. She has held the highly regarded position for over 23 years and is now stepping down.
Always forward-thinking, Ariel was one of the first film commissioners to develop a comprehensive online location library for Pasadena’s film-friendly locations. Her ‘one-stop shopping’ approach transformed Pasadena into one of Southern California’s most popular filming destinations.
As her “farewell song,” Ariel produced a new video showcasing the remarkable business community in Pasadena. The six-minute video was shown in the City Council Chambers as part of the event.
Bon Voyage, Ariel, we wish you all the best in this next phase of your life – The LMGA
