The showcase is sponsored by the Houston Film Commission and features Texas filmmakers. This year\u2019s films were exceptional and diverse. The graduate film \u00a0project, &#8220;Skunk,&#8221; by Annie Silverstein, won the top prize at this year&#8217;s \u00a0Cannes Film Festival\u2019s Cinefoundation. \u00a0Funded\u00a0through a\u00a0Kickstarter campaign,\u00a0the film follows a young girl as she searches for her stolen dog set against a desolate suburban landscape.\u00a0Other films included \u00a0&#8220;Anything Made of Paper,&#8221; a stunning stop motion music video using paper cutout characters \u00a0from the team of Brandon Ray and Pat Kondelis. The humorous\u00a0documentary &#8220;The Trouble with Ray,&#8221; \u00a0by Travis Johns, spans the 30+ year career of legendary Texas GBLT activist &#8211; Ray Hill.
