Every story invites us into a world all its own. Whether familiar or fantastical, intimate or epic, that world gives each story its heartbeat—and its horizons.
Tonight, we celebrate the creators who build extraordinary worlds from places found in the real one. We honor the remarkable work of the location professionals whose vision, perseverance, and artistry have helped bring this year’s most compelling films, television series, and commercials to life—one location at a time.
A house here. A mountaintop there. A windswept beach. A bustling city street. A forgotten factory. Wherever a story needs to unfold, location professionals discover the places that make imagined worlds feel authentic and unforgettable.
This year’s nominees have transported us across cultures, continents, time, and space—from the jungles of Colombia and the oil fields of Texas to the majestic landscapes of Hawai’i, New Zealand or Indonesia; from the streets of New York and Manchester to haunting, dystopian landscapes created in California and the UK. Each world resonating with the enduring truth of our craft—place is story.
Tonight, we also celebrate the film commissions whose support opens the doors to amazing cities, historical sites, and landscapes. Our Honorary Awards recognize individuals and organizations whose accomplishments have created lasting legacies within our industry.
Visionaries like Writer, Director, and Executive Producer Vince Gilligan imagine unforgettable worlds. The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) builds the partnerships that help make those worlds accessible. The Environmental Media Association (EMA) reminds us that the stories we tell today should never come at the expense of the world that inspires them. And our own past LMGI President, Supervising Location Manager Mike Fantasia, who over the course of a stellar career, helped create cinematic worlds that have become part of our collective imagination—while mentoring the next generation of location professionals.

Twenty-three years ago, the LMGI began with the idea of bringing location professionals together. Since then, we have grown: one scout, one manager, one city, one state, one country, and one continent at a time. Today, we are a global community united by a shared passion for storytelling and discovery that continues to elevate our craft and strengthen our profession around the world.
