The LMGI’s
UKEA Regional Committee
– UK Branch

Regional Director Contact:  Angus Ledgerwood

Regional Sub-Committee:
Tom Howard, Lauren York

We believe it is crucial for the LMGI to provide substantial benefits to its members while avoiding duplicating the efforts of other organizations like BECTU and Film London. Therefore, the UKEA committee’s primary objective is to enhance the reputation of location professionals and continue the work of the international board. We are confident that our vision and plan align with this goal.

Our vision

To significantly raise the profile of location managers to be that of other HoDs in the UKEA region by lobbying BAFTA and its European & African equivalence for a dedicated location award, changing the single card policy to include Supervising Location Managers, and ensuring locations are included in screening panels, press interviews, and screen events.

To work towards our vision, our Goal is:

To lobby BAFTA to allow location professionals to vote within the Production Designer Chapter (we’re currently Chapterless!) and ensure our LMGI members speak at least two separate BAFTA events. To secure at least two interviews with our LMGI members about their projects within high-profile press/media.

As the Committee and regional members strengthen, we will target further geographic organisations within the committee’s region to replicate the campaign.

Once the Committee is fully formed we will send you a short online questionnaire to get your opinion and feedback on what else you might want from your membership, for example online training, face to face meet ups, etc.

Recent Events:

August 2025 LMGI members and all levels of the locations department gathered at the Tate Modern in London to launch the UK initiatives and scout the Tate.  We are grateful for the Tate to open their space and welcome us!  A special thanks to our committee member’s volunteer actions.
