At the close of 2025, the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) membership ratified a bylaws amendment introducing regionally adjusted membership pricing.
This structure aligns with World Bank income classifications and reflects the global economic diversity of the production landscape. The intent is not to alter membership standards or benefits, but to remove financial barriers in select regions so qualified location professionals can participate fully in the Guild.
All applicants—regardless of region—must meet the same professional qualifications and are granted the same access to benefits, voting rights, and inclusion in the LMGI Member Directory. See membership level details, qualifications, and begin the application HERE.
Why This Matters
LMGI members work across borders. Productions frequently expand into new regions, and members often rely on the Guild’s Directory to identify trusted, vetted professionals in unfamiliar territories.
In regions where cost has historically limited participation, the Directory has had gaps. Regionally adjusted pricing addresses that practical challenge—strengthening the reliability of the Directory and reinforcing LMGI as a global standard for the craft.
This is a structural solution to a working reality: when a member is called to produce in another country, they should be able to find a qualified LMGI location professional there.

Regional film commissions, industry partners, and production organizations are also invited to share this information with qualified professionals in highlighted regions.
