Academy Award®-winning actor, producer, director and writer Kevin Costner will be honored with the prestigious Eva Monley Award from the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) at the 12th Annual LMGI Awards gala on August 23, 2025, at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage. Recognized for his dedication to storytelling though the lens of locations, Costner has showcased the powerful connection between characters and their environments throughout his illustrious career in iconic films and TV productions such as “Dances with Wolves,” “The Bodyguard,” “Field of Dreams,” “Yellowstone,” and most recently, “Horizon: An American Saga.”

“Kevin Costner has long understood that locations are more than scenery—they are storytelling tools that shape the emotional and visual language of a film. His commitment to authenticity and his deep respect for the craft makes him a perfect recipient of the Eva Monley Award. Costner, widely recognized for his versatile performances across various genres, has captivated audiences for over four decades. He has received various accolades, including two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. He rose to prominence starring in such classic films as “The Untouchables,” “Bull Durham,” “Silverado,” “JFK,” “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” “No Way Out,” and “A Perfect World.” He starred in and

The Eva Monley Award is given to an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to the art and craft of filmmaking through their commitment to the use of real locations. Past recipients include Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Wes Anderson and Danny Boyle.

As previously announced, Veteran Location Manager Ilt Jones will receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Jones’s creative visions can be seen on “The Dark Knight Rises,” “Inception,” “Iron Man 3,” “Kong: Skull Island,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Captain Marvel” and the “Transformers” franchise.

The LMGI Awards honor the outstanding and creative contributions of location professionals in film, television, commercials, and film commissions from around the globe, and celebrate the art and craft of location scouting and management. Awards will be presented in the following categories: Contemporary Film, Period Film, Contemporary TV, Period TV, Television Anthology/MOW/Limited Series, Commercials, and Film Commissions.
