HANNAH JAMES-JOHNSON – BOARD MEMBER

Originally hailing from South East London, Hannah now lives and works in Cardiff in South Wales.

Her work spans a varied slate of productions – from BBC dramas such as The Pact, indie films with up and coming Writer/Directors and Netflix giants like Sex Education; every year looks a little different. Hannah has recently set up the first Location Agency for South Wales – Green Shoots Cymru, and alongside locations provides practical sustainability support to productions of all shapes and sizes.

This passion for sustainability, alongside a desire for a kinder, fairer industry was shaped by her time in Aotearoa New Zealand. It was here she spent two years riding out covid and working alongside some of the best in the NZ screen industry. It was an experience that shaped how she views not only the work itself, but also our connections to the land we live and work on. Shout out to all the kiwi crew who made Wellington feel like home. You truly can’t beat Welly on a good day! She hopes to one day manifest a welsh/kiwi co-pro for entirely selfish reasons!

As part of the board this year, Hannah hopes to showcase more of what the powerhouse that is the UK screen industry (and in particular Wales!) has to offer. As well as looking towards building a fairer, kinder and more sustainable industry that we can be proud to be a part of for many years to come.
