STEVIE NELSON – BOARD MEMBER

Los Angeles native Stevie Nelson has worked as a location manager and scout in feature films and television for over 30 years.

Her credits include the TV series House M.D., The Mindy Project, Fresh Off the Boat, 13 Reasons Why, and Why Women Kill, as well as the feature films Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2, 80 for Brady, Atlas, After Earth, and Into the Wild.

Ms. Nelson is a founding member of the Location Managers Guild International (formerly the Location Managers Guild of America) and has served multiple terms on the Guild’s Board of Directors. She is Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the LMGI’s Compass magazine and a longtime Co-Chair of both the LMGI Membership Committee and the LMGI Awards Television Subcommittee.

Ms. Nelson has participated in international industry panels on the roles of women in film and the craft of location managing and scouting. She has also moderated LMGI panels at the Sundance Film Festival, focusing on the creative and collaborative role that location managers and scouts play in producing successful productions. A member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Teamsters Local 399, she is a multiple California On Location (COLA) Award winner, and her photographic work has appeared in several juried exhibitions.

In her free time, Ms. Nelson enjoys reading, road trips, hiking with her dogs, gardening, and mentoring the next generation of location professionals.
