John Rakich is an accomplished Supervising Location Manager and Scout with over 23 years of experience across studio and streaming productions. A dedicated advocate for location management, he has been an active LMGI member since 2015 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2018, including the past four years as President.
During his tenure, John has played a key role in expanding LMGI’s global reach, fostering industry partnerships, and increasing membership. He has represented the Guild at major international events, secured exposure in industry publications, and worked to elevate the recognition of location professionals worldwide.
Beyond LMGI, John is a long-time member and former board member of the Directors Guild of Canada’s Ontario District Council. He is also a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television. An active speaker and advisor, he frequently participates in industry panels, festivals, and educational programs. Passionate about workforce education and development, John remains committed to championing the vital role of location professionals in storytelling.
