Kay Pointing Wilson – Board Member

Kay is a dual national holding both British and Vincentian (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) citizenship.

Her first job was with the British Broadcasting Company’s Natural History Unit, Bristol, UK, in an admin role processing the expenses of crew working overseas. Tales from afar fed her wanderlust; during her career she has been able to travel extensively working in France, Spain, North Africa, Greece and Cyprus, however her longest time in one place coincided with the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines where as a local she joined the production as a member of the marine crew.

In the years that followed Kay built an award winning marine tourism business in St. Vincent, whilst supporting visiting productions as a fixer and production manager, finding and managing locations across the Eastern Caribbean. (A highlight during this time was teaching Anthony Bourdain how to scuba dive during prep for Travel Channels No Reservations).

Kay returned to the UK to live full time in 2019 and is now based in South Wales, she has since worked as a scout and location manager supporting HETV and Features both in the UK and overseas traveling to Vietnam in 2023 (SAS Who Dares Wins S8 / Celebrity S5) and Grenada (Fortune Hotel S2) in 2024.

When not on set Kay is an active member of Bectu (Broadcasting Entertainment Communications and Theatre Union) and sits on the Television Access Project Production Spaces committee which advocates to make work in Film and TV more accessible for those with disabilities. She also advocates for crew wellbeing and welfare on set as a trained Well Being Facilitator, a role funded and supported by Bectu and Welsh Government.

Her passion for travel remains and she has built a catalogue of over 50,000 photographs showcasing locations from around the UK, Greece, Spain, Morocco, Vietnam, Thailand and the Eastern Caribbean.
